CHRISTMAS IN WOONSOCKET.
CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL.
The UNIVERSALIST SOCIETY
of this village will hold their
Annual Festival in HARRIS HALL,
(In the new and splendid Block erected by Edward Harris, Esq.)
on FRIDAY EVENING, DEC. 25th.
An earnest effort will be made to make the entertainment worthy of the society, the
place and the occasion.
At 8 o'clock a brief Address may be expected, and the audience will sing a Hymn;
after which a few pieces will be presented in Tableaux, to be followed by the
distribution of the fruits of the ever-memorable, evergreen CHRISTMAS TREE.
The pleasures of the evening will be enhanced by good Instrumental Music and
good things from the tables, all helping on the good time when "good will to men"
shall be written on the brow and breathed from the soul of entire humanity. In this
spirit, all our friends and "the rest of mankind" are cordially invited to join us in a
genuine MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Doors open at 6 o'clock. Admission 15 cents.
P.S. Provision will be made for outside garments in the Ante-rooms, where persons will be
in waiting to receive them, and give checks without expense to the wearers.
John Boyden, Chairman. Woonsocket, Dec. 18, 1857.
